TyMetrix Quickly Growing European Footprint; Selected by Online Gaming and Betting Company for e-Billing and Legal Spend Evaluation

HARTFORD, Conn. and LONDON – Sept. 6, 2011 – TyMetrix, the premier provider of Web-based legal performance management solutions for corporate law departments, law firms and claims organizations, today announced thatLadbrokes plc, one of the world’s largest online betting and gaming companies, has selected TyMetrix 360° to enable electronic billing among its panel law firms and provide better visibility into its legal spend. The UK-based Ladbrokes is the latest of many European-based organizations choosing TyMetrix 360°, solidifying TyMetrix’s reputation as the global leader in legal performance management. TyMetrix is part of Wolters Kluwer Corporate Legal Services.

Ladbrokes’ legal billing was complex – covering multiple territories and departments. As part of a multi-faceted approach to the management and control of legal spend, including appointment of a panel of law firms and implementation of panel guidelines, Ladbrokes began evaluating several legal performance management solutions. The company chose TyMetrix 360° primarily due to confidence in TyMetrix’s ability to deliver implementation against a challenging deadline. Soft launched in early 2011 and now fully live and implemented, TyMetrix 360° validates and captures live data from the invoices of the panel firms with which Ladbrokes works, allowing the company to automatically validate invoices against the billing guidelines, and ensuring that law firms charge only for the time and expenses for which they are authorized.

Demonstrating Ladbrokes’ position as an innovative thinker around legal performance management in the UK, the company is also using this data to create management information around legal spend. This gives the general counsel full visibility into spend as well as trend and outcome analysis based on variables such as law firm and work type.

“TyMetrix has provided us with unprecedented, data-driven visibility into our legal billings and spend — something that most EMEA organizations simply do not have insight into right now,” said Jonathan Adelman, General Counsel, Ladbrokes. “We evaluated several solutions as part of a vigorous RFP and selected TyMetrix because they demonstrated that they could provide not only the most sophisticated range of tools for a global business, such as Ladbrokes, but also critically, they demonstrated a strong, proactive approach to helping Ladbrokes implement the system against a pressing deadline. TyMetrix 360° has allowed us to consign our old cumbersome manual legal billing process to the past, saving real internal time and cost.  TyMetrix 360° provides us with detailed analysis of our global legal spend, allowing us unprecedented visibility into trends and outcomes whilst helping us optimize our legal spend.”

“Our work with Ladbrokes – yet another large UK company - shows that TyMetrix continues to lead the market in Europe, supporting our clients’ ever-changing global requirements,” said Scott Walker, Managing Director, TyMetrix Europe. “We continue to see triple-digit growth in the number of customers deploying TyMetrix in Europe, and they tell us that our implementation and local market expertise are critical in driving improved legal performance.”
