Europe-based legal team will rely on the patent-pending technology platform for matter management and system consolidation

HOUSTON, June 28 2011 – Datacert, Inc., the premier global provider of enterprise legal management solutions, today announced that Nissan International SA. has selectedPassport™, its patent-pending technology platform, to help strategically align its geographically-dispersed law department. Nissan International, a subsidiary of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., will integrate its document management system with Passport and upgrade to Datacert’s matter management application that is built on the platform.

"Passport stood-out from other solutions we evaluated because it offers a first-rate, user-friendly matter management solution that can easily integrate with our current enterprise document management system," said Fabien Lesort, legal manager, Nissan West Europe. "By integrating all of our department’s systems on a single platform, Passport provides the visibility that's necessary for strategic department management."

The legal department of Nissan in Europe is spread across 11 countries. By integrating Datacert's matter management application with the department's current document management system, the legal team can share data and easily manage all legal-related business in one system, thus improving internal collaboration and maximizing department efficiency. In addition, consolidating systems on Passport will help strategically align the diverse team by providing unprecedented visibility into their legal risk and legal-related business.

"With a legal team that is spread across so many geographies and also responsible for disparate matter types, it is critical for us to implement a flexible solution that can be easily adjusted to address diverse business requirements in each jurisdiction," said Gabriele Luka, vice president, legal and external affairs, Nissan International SA. "To ensure the solution is readily adopted throughout the entire department, it must also offer user-friendly features that make the management and dissemination of internal information easier and more efficient. Passport was chosen because it is a comprehensive system that is equipped with the necessary flexibility and features to handle all of our unique requirements."

Passport is a flexible platform that is equipped with powerful toolkits that will allow Nissan to configure the system to support the unique needs of users in different geographies. The vast majority of configurations can be accomplished by resources with no programming expertise. The toolkits will also enable Nissan to develop and implement new functionality and applications on the platform as needed to address shifting business requirements. This straightforward configuration means the department can continuously extend the platform to meet their emerging needs for the long-term without the assistance of Datacert or a third-party.

Since Passport launched in late 2010 it has been selected by 27 companies and government entities throughout the US and Europe, including 19 Fortune/Fortune Global 500 companies. In a recent independent legal industry research report from Hyperion Research, Datacert was recognized as a "Market Innovator" for its vision of Passport and the clear market leader in Europe in respect to other matter management and e-billing vendors. In terms of global presence and support capabilities, Hyperion also found that, "Only one vendor – Datacert – has significant operations, support, and sales staff in Europe."
