Need for extensible legal technology infrastructure to support near- and long-term needs drives selection
HOUSTON, March 29, 2012 – Datacert Inc., the premier global provider of enterprise legal management solutions, announced today that United Air Lines, Inc. has selected Passport®, Datacert’s patent-pending technology platform, to deliver consolidated legal matter and legal spend management capabilities to the legal department of the company, which recently merged with Continental Airlines. United will also implement the Passport Collaboration Module, to enable effective collaboration with outside counsel; the Outlook Module, to enable their lawyers to easily manage their matters through their email interface; and the Designer Toolkit, to enable the company to configure and maintain the system in-house.
“Merging technology infrastructures can be challenging,” said John Lakosil, Senior Manager, Law Department Administration. “Updating our legacy matter management systems to Passport will provide the combined company with a legal technology infrastructure that supports both our near-term operational needs, as well as allow us to evolve the system to support long-term legal strategy.”
United is a long-time Datacert client, having used the company’s legacy legal spend management and reporting solution for over 5 years.
Passport has been recently recognized by Hyperion Research, the leading analyst firm focused on legal technology and operations, for its industry-leading design and usability and extensive configuration and development tools. Since its launch just over a year ago, Passport has been selected by more than 25 companies and government entities, primarily Fortune/Fortune Global 500 corporations, such as CenturyLink (formerly Qwest Communications), Johnson Controls, and Nissan International.
