The webinar and new Passport Diversity module help clients better track and manage diversity among their outside counsel.

Dec. 06, 2016 —Wolters Kluwer's ELM Solutions today announced that it will host a webinar to discuss strategies for enhancing diversity in the legal profession. While corporate legal departments and claims litigation organizations are working to close the diversity gap, challenges still remain. The webinar, “Driving Diversity – Moving the Needle in Legal,” will be presented on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. EST to help clients address these issues. Featured speakers at the webinar include Alan Bryan, senior associate general counsel, Legal Operation and Outside Counsel Management, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., and Laura Rees Acosta, senior manager, Diversity and Inclusion, Goodwin Proctor, LLP.

The legal profession continues to lag behind other U.S. industries when it comes to diversity, which can be detrimental to an organization’s success, according to the Acritas 2016 Diversity Report. The report found that only 25% of legal teams are diverse. However, these teams make a big impact, providing better value, improved efficiency, and improved overall performance compared to those that lack diversity.

Informed by these trends, Wolters Kluwer's ELM Solutions has introduced a new Passport Diversity offering along with an updated TyMetrix 360º Diversity module, formalizing the company’s dedication to placing its clients’ diversity efforts at the center of focus for 2017. The modules help drive diversity initiatives and comply with regulatory requirements by tracking the diversity data of legal service providers by firm and timekeeper.

“With corporate law departments more focused on diversity than ever before, Wolters Kluwer's ELM Solutions is renewing our commitment to help clients comprehensively manage their outside counsel relationships according to their needs,” said Linda Hovanec, senior director of product management, Wolters Kluwer's ELM Solutions. “For example, our Diversity Modules help our clients manage their diversity programs, enabling them to make smarter, more informed decisions when it comes to maintaining firm relationships and assigning cases.”

Ranked one of the world’s largest legal service organizations with over 180 years of legal expertise, Wolters Kluwer’s ELM Solutions leverages a deep understanding of customer needs to transform the Enterprise Legal Management experience and help corporate legal departments and insurance claims organizations make better business decisions.
